Jan Caba joined our team in January 2020.

Jan Caba studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. In addition, he obtained the “Licence en droit“ and the ”Maîtrise en droit“ at the Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) in France as well as the Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the UK.

During his traineeship at the higher regional court of Munich, he worked for a criminal law boutique in Munich, in the corporate practice of an international commercial law firm in Munich and for the German Embassy in Addis Abeba.

After his admission to the bar in 2010, Jan Caba worked as an attorney for the dispute resolution practice of an international commercial law firm in Munich and Istanbul. While his main focus was on civil litigation, he also dealt with matters pertaining to criminal law.

Thereafter, Jan Caba wrote his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Ulrich Sieber at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg. His thesis examines and compares the penalization of interferences with criminal proceedings (“obstruction of justice“) in the US, Germany and at the international criminal courts and tribunals.
